Overview
A campaign is where you plan and run a marketing effort — a product launch, a seasonal promotion, a re-engagement push, anything with a goal and a set of emails, texts, pages, or posts that support it. Each campaign keeps its own goal, plan, calendar, library of assets, and settings together in one place, so you always know what a given effort is trying to achieve and what's been made for it so far.
What you can do here
- Create a new campaign and give it a goal in your own words.
- Ask the assistant to turn that goal into a plan — a proposed list of emails, pages, content, social posts, and automations — and review it before anything gets built.
- See a running brief of what's happened in the campaign, the numbers that matter to it, and anything that needs your attention.
- Chat with the assistant right from the campaign to draft or adjust anything in it.
- Browse every asset created for the campaign in one shelf.
- View the campaign's schedule on a calendar, alongside every other campaign's schedule if you want the bigger picture.
- Adjust the campaign's brief, type, budget, tracking, and key numbers at any time from its settings.
The campaign tabs
Open any campaign and you'll see a row of tabs near the top:
- Overview — the campaign's home page. This is where you land by default, and it's covered in detail below.
- Settings — the campaign's goal, brief, type, budget, tracking, and key numbers to track, plus the generated plan once one exists.
- Calendar — everything scheduled for this campaign, laid out by day. See Calendar and scheduling.
- Library — every asset (email, text, page, image, and so on) created for this campaign.
There's also an Insights view, reached from the same tab row, that shows a more detailed performance report for the campaign once it has activity to report on.
Creating a campaign
From the Campaigns list, click + New campaign. A new campaign opens straight to its Settings tab so you can describe what it's for before anything else happens — that's where you set its goal (see Planning a campaign), write a short brief about what you're promoting and to whom, and pick a campaign type. None of this is required to finish in one sitting; you can come back and fill it in later, or just start chatting with the assistant and let it help you figure it out.
What the Overview tab shows you
The Overview tab is the campaign's home page — a quick way to see where things stand and jump into whatever needs doing next. From top to bottom:
- A composer. A box at the top where you can type a request to the assistant — draft an email, adjust the schedule, pull a quick number, anything. Typing here and sending starts a new chat scoped to this campaign. See Campaign AI sessions.
- Today's brief. A short, plain-language summary of what's happened recently in the campaign — for example, your last send and how it's performing, or how many approvals are waiting on you. Click "How I wrote this" to see exactly what the assistant looked at (recent sends and open approvals) to write the summary.
- What needs attention. Up to three cards calling out items that either need your review ("Needs you") or that the assistant is actively working on ("Running"). Click a card to jump straight to it.
- Activity log. A day-by-day log of everything that's happened in the campaign — sends, drafts, generated assets, and more — each with a small colored dot showing whether it needs you, is in progress, or is done. Scroll down to load earlier activity.
- A library shelf. A strip of the most recent assets made for this campaign — emails, texts, images, pages — with a link through to the full Library tab for everything.
Nothing on this page is fixed reporting furniture you have to configure — it's assembled automatically from what's actually happening in the campaign, and it updates as new activity comes in.
Example scenarios
Scenario: Create a new campaign and set a goal
- From the Campaigns list, click + New campaign.
- You land on the new campaign's Settings tab. In the Goal section, type what you're trying to achieve in plain language — for example, "get 100 sign-ups for our fall webinar by the end of the month."
- Click away from the goal field. If the assistant can suggest a specific measurable target from your wording (a metric, a value, and a time window), it shows it as a chip.
- If the suggestion looks right, click Adjust to apply it to the campaign. Otherwise, leave your own wording as-is.
- Fill in the Brief section with what you're promoting, to whom, and any offer involved, and pick a campaign type. Once a type is set, you can click Generate campaign to have the assistant propose a full plan — see Planning a campaign for what happens next.
Scenario: Check a campaign's overview tab to see what needs your attention
- Open the campaign from the Campaigns list.
- You land on the Overview tab automatically.
- Read Today's brief for a quick summary of recent activity.
- Look at the attention row underneath — anything marked "Needs you" is waiting on a decision from you (for example, approving a draft before it sends); anything marked "Running" is something the assistant is actively working on.
- Click a card to go straight to that item, or scroll down through the Activity log for the full history if you want more context first.
FAQ
Q: What's the difference between a campaign's Overview tab and its Insights view? A: Overview is a quick daily snapshot — recent activity, what needs you, and your latest assets. Insights is a deeper performance report for the campaign, useful once it has enough activity to analyze in detail.
Q: Do I have to set a goal before I can do anything else in a campaign? A: No. You can start chatting with the assistant, draft content, or build out the calendar without ever filling in the Goal field. Setting a goal mainly helps the assistant generate a more useful plan for you.
Q: What shows up in "Needs you" versus "Running"? A: "Needs you" is something waiting on a decision from you, like approving a draft before it sends. "Running" is something the assistant is actively working on in the background. Both link straight to the item in question.
Q: Where do a campaign's assets go once they're created? A: They collect in that campaign's Library tab automatically, and the most recent ones also show up in the shelf on the Overview tab.
Q: Can I rename a campaign after creating it? A: Yes. Click the campaign's name at the top of any of its tabs to edit it in place.
Q: Can I see the schedules for all my campaigns at once? A: Yes — the Campaigns list has its own Calendar view that combines every campaign's schedule and lets you filter down to specific ones. See Calendar and scheduling.
Q: Is Today's brief written by a person or generated automatically? A: It's written automatically by the assistant based on the campaign's recent activity — you can always check "How I wrote this" to see exactly what it looked at.
Q: What if a campaign is brand new and has no activity yet? A: Today's brief invites you to start a session, the attention row and Activity log stay empty, and the Library shelf is empty until you or the assistant create something. Nothing on the Overview tab requires setup — it's simply quiet until there's something to show.
