Overview

Pulse is your home screen — the first thing you see when you open the app. Instead of a fixed dashboard with the same boxes for everyone, Pulse is a canvas you build yourself out of "reports": cards that show you information about your contacts, campaigns, and activity, arranged however makes sense to you. You open Pulse to check in on your account, pick up something you were working on, or ask the assistant to put a new view together for you.

What you can do here

  • See a personal greeting and today's date, along with how many chats you currently have open across the app.
  • Ask the assistant to build you a new report and add it to your canvas, just by describing what you want to see.
  • Browse a Library of every report available to you — the ones already on your canvas and ones you haven't added yet — and add or remove them.
  • Arrange your canvas by dragging report cards into the layout you prefer, and resizing them to give more room to the ones you check most.
  • Refresh a report on demand, or pause/resume its automatic updates, from each card's menu.
  • Ask the assistant to change an existing report without starting over — right from the card itself.
  • Add a rolling activity feed of chats, sends, and automations as one of your cards, if you want that view on your canvas.
  • Jump back into any chat you left open, from anywhere in the app.

Getting oriented

At the top of Pulse you'll see a greeting ("Good morning," "Good afternoon," or "Good evening"), today's date, and a count of how many tasks — chats with the assistant — you currently have open. Next to that are two buttons: Library, which opens a panel of every report you can add to your canvas, and New report, which starts a conversation with the assistant to build one from scratch. There's also an All tasks link that takes you to the full list of your open chats, wherever in the app they were started.

Everything below that top row is your canvas: a grid of report cards you can rearrange by dragging, and resize by dragging a corner. Whatever order you leave them in is saved, so your canvas looks the same the next time you come back.

New workspaces don't start blank: your canvas arrives with a starter set of reports already arranged for you — a business pulse summary, email engagement, audience growth, and deliverability. Keep them, rearrange them, or remove any you don't want, and add more from the Library at any time.

Report cards

Each card on your canvas is a report — a focused view of something in your account, refreshed on a schedule so the numbers stay current. Every card has a small menu (the three dots in its corner) with a few options:

  • Refresh now — get the latest data immediately instead of waiting for the next scheduled update.
  • Edit with agent — tell the assistant what you'd like changed about this report (a different date range, a different way of grouping the data, and so on), and it updates the card in place.
  • Pause/Resume refresh — stop a report from updating automatically, or turn that back on.
  • Remove from canvas — take the card off your canvas. This doesn't delete the underlying report; it just stops showing it here (you can add it back from the Library any time).

If you'd rather see a rolling feed of recent activity — chats, sends, and automations — instead of (or alongside) your reports, you can add that as one of your cards too, from the Library.

The Library

The Library is a side panel listing every report available to you, both the ones already on your canvas and ones you haven't added yet. It's searchable, so you can quickly find a specific report by name or by the question it answers. From here you can:

  • Add a report to your canvas, or Remove one that's already there.
  • Pause or Resume a report's automatic updates without removing it.
  • Delete a report you created yourself (you can't delete the ones that came built in with your workspace).

The Library is also where new reports show up after you build them, so it doubles as a saved history of everything you or the assistant have put together.

Starting a new report

Click New report and you're taken into a chat with the assistant, the same kind of conversation described in Using AI sessions. Tell it what you want to see — for example, "show me how my email opens have trended over the last 30 days" — and it will ask a clarifying question if it needs one, design the report, show you a preview, and pin it to your canvas once you're happy with it. You can come back later and ask it to change that same report rather than building a new one.

Picking up where you left off

If you have chats open anywhere in the app — including ones you started from Pulse — the greeting at the top shows how many, and the All tasks link takes you straight to the full list so you can jump back in.

Example prompts

You can describe a report as a question ("how many…", "what's the trend in…") or as the card you want to end up with. Either works.

Ask for a specific figure or trend

  • "create a live insight showing the open rate of all emails as a function of time"
  • "create a live insight listing how many emails were sent in the last 7 days and how many SMS messages were sent in the last 7 days"
  • "show me a breakdown of my contacts by tag"

Let the assistant interview you first

  • "Create a new report for my insights canvas. Ask me what I want to see, design it, preview it, and pin it to the canvas."

Scope it to one campaign

  • "Create a campaign-scoped report for this campaign and pin it to this campaign's canvas rather than the global one."

Example scenarios

Scenario: Pin your first report to Pulse

  1. Open Pulse. New workspaces already come with a starter set of reports — this scenario adds one of your own on top.
  2. Click New report.
  3. In the chat that opens, describe what you want to see — for example, "show me a breakdown of my contacts by tag."
  4. Answer any follow-up question the assistant asks to narrow things down.
  5. Review the preview the assistant shows you.
  6. Approve it, and the assistant pins it to your canvas. It now appears as a card on your Pulse home screen.

Scenario: Reopen a report you built last week from the Library

  1. Open Pulse.
  2. Click Library.
  3. Use the search box to find the report by name, or scroll the list — every report you've built or been given stays here even if it isn't currently on your canvas.
  4. If it's not already on your canvas, click Add next to it. It appears as a card right away.
  5. Drag it to wherever you'd like it on your canvas, and resize it if you want more room to see the details.

FAQ

Q: Does my canvas start empty? A: No — new workspaces arrive with a starter set of reports (a business pulse summary, email engagement, audience growth, and deliverability) already on the canvas. You can rearrange or remove them and add others from the Library. If you remove every report, you'll see a short prompt with a Browse library button to add reports back.

Q: What's a "report" and what does it mean to "pin" one? A: A report is a card that shows you information from your account — about your contacts, campaigns, or activity — kept up to date automatically. Pinning a report means adding it to your Pulse canvas so it's visible every time you open the app.

Q: Can I remove a report from my canvas without deleting it? A: Yes. Use Remove from canvas on the card, or Remove in the Library. The report itself still exists — you can add it back any time from the Library.

Q: Can I delete a report entirely? A: You can delete reports you created yourself from the Library. Reports that came built in with your workspace can be removed from your canvas but not deleted outright.

Q: Where did the daily brief and KPI numbers go? A: Pulse used to show a fixed set of boxes for everyone. It now focuses on reports you choose and arrange yourself, so you only see what's useful to you. Activity and performance numbers tied to a specific campaign now live on that campaign's own page, and you can still build a report on your Pulse canvas for anything you want to track from here.

Q: How do I get a rolling feed of my recent activity back on my home screen? A: Open the Library and add the "Activity feed" entry near the top of the list. It's added as a card on your canvas just like any report, and you can remove it the same way.

Q: Why does a report look out of date? A: Reports refresh on their own on a schedule, but you can force an immediate update from a card's menu with Refresh now. If a report's automatic updates are paused, resume them from the same menu.

Q: How is a report different from just asking a question in a chat? A: A chat answers a question once. A report is something you keep — it stays on your canvas and refreshes on its own, so you don't have to ask the same question again.

Q: Can I change a report after it's built? A: Yes — use Edit with agent on the card and describe what you'd like different. There's no need to build a new report from scratch for small changes.
